process of a film

1. all films start with an idea. wherever the film comes from it is then the producer who decides to make this idea into a reality. a writer then defines the idea, plot and the main characters.he then writes a one page description of the main story.then a pitch is made to show off the idea to financiers so that they commision a script.
2.  funding. the producer can offer the future sales and broadcast rights to a production company in return for money to fund the script. the producer can also apply to a public funding body such as the uk film concil for a devolopment grant, or private investors.
3. script devolpment. first the writer prouces a synopsis on the key scenes and events of the film. once everyone is happy with the final script it is locked off and becomes a final draft. then the wrighter gets paid.
4. packaging means deciding how they will film the film. one common way to make the prodject well known is to attach well know stars to the script. to turn a profit the producer will have to know how much the entire film will cost to produce.
5. shooting the film. they will often shoot the same scene sevral times so that the director can decide at wich angle they will shoot from to make it a more affestive scene in the film. for instance if it is a climax scene of the  film the director will often have it filmed multiple times so that they can get the mood/atmoshpere perfect.
6. marketing is how they will advertise there film to make sure that lots of people go to see it and they turn a profit. there are many methods in wich to advertise a film, one of the more succesfull ways is to gradually leak information about a film so as to keep peopl instersted (like cloverfeild) althoughe some films prefer to advertise there film for what it is straght away and keep a specific audiance tuned in.
